| Inks
High-quality, low tack printing inks should be used, preferably
unreduced. The ink must not react with the coating; if in
doubt, please consult your ink supplier. When printing on
the reverse side, use thinly applied light-coloured inks (no
glossy inks).
Offset
When selecting offset printing plates, make sure they are
suitable for printing on carbonless paper. They should allow
minimal water passage, and the rubber blankets should be compressible.
Exercise great care when using dampening solution additives,
as they can cause discolouring or reduce the legibility of
copies. The proportion of alcohol added should not exceed
15%, and the pH should be kept at 5.5.
Small Offset
When using small offset presses, it is advisable to run the
paper through the press with its grain perpendicular to the
cylinders (long grain). This will enhance running stability.
Processing Tips
Cutting
When using guillotine-type cutters, the following must be
observed:
• Keep the clamp pressure as low as possible
• Slipping of the stack and discoloration can be avoided
by attaching a 20 mm thick section of expanded rubber to the
clamp.
• Remove protection sheets before cutting the ream.
• Ensure that the guillotine blade is sharp.
Desensitising
Supreme Image desensitising inks are specially matched to
the reaction system of the Supreme Image paper. No guarantee
can be given if other inks are used. It is suitable for wet
offset (also suitable for letterpress and dry offset after
adding 2% print oil).
The above instructions are a guide only and testing prior
to running the job is always recommended. Please contact Stockman
