The bill should only total $25, so the casheir gives the waiter five $1 coins to return to the diners. But the waiter is a little shifty and pockets $2 returning only $3 to the diners. So now the diners have only paid $9 each, making a total of $27. If you add this to the $2 in the waiter pocket, you only get $29. As the friends originally paid $30 what has happened to the missing dollar?
